Local threads live on your Mac. When you drive one from your phone, the relay passes messages through and keeps nothing. Cloud threads run in their own sandbox, never mirrored from local.

Your phone opens the thread you left on your Mac and keeps reading as the agent works. Reply, steer, or start something new with the same pickers you have on the desktop. Cloud threads don't need the Mac at all. Start one from the phone and the sandbox does the work.
